To apply for an internship at The National Center for Public Policy Research, please send 1) the dates you wish your internship to cover, 2) your resume, 3) one or more writing samples, and 4) a letter describing specifically why you believe an it would be mutually beneficial to both you and to The National Center if you were to serve an internship with us. The factors that we consider the most strongly are: 1) the quality of the applicant's writing skills and 2) an applicant's ability to show a strong interest in the The National Center's work. We do have a limited number of paid internships. We do not provide housing. The National Center is located within easy walking distance of Union Station (subway and MARC commuter train station) on the U.S. Senate side of Capitol Hill. Competition for paid internships is stiff during summer months, but less so at other times. Applying early, particularly for paid summer internships, is helpful. Summer spots tend to be filled quickly. To apply, please send the aforementioned materials to David Almasi, executive director, by email, fax or mail. Questions about our internship program should be directed to David Almasi.
